چکیده

At low energies, electrons in doped graphene sheets are described by a massless Dirac fermion Hamiltonian. In this work we present a semi-analytical expression for the dynamical density-density linear-response function of noninteracting massless Dirac fermions (the so-called “Lindhard” function) at finite temperature. This result is crucial to describe finite-temperature screening of interacting massless Dirac fermions within the Random Phase Approximation. In particular, we use it to make quantitative predictions for the specific heat and the compressibility of doped graphene sheets. We find that, at low temperatures, the specific heat has the usual normalFermi-liquid linear-in-temperature behavior, with a slope that is solely controlled by the renormalized quasiparticle velocity. Study of Stone-wales Defect on Elastic Properties of Single-layer Graphene Sheets by an Atomistic based Finite Element Model

In this paper, an atomistic based finite element model is developed to investigate the influence of topological defects on mechanical properties of graphene. The general in-plane stiffness matrix of the hexagonal network structure of graphene is found. Effective elastic modulus of a carbon ring is determined from the equivalence of molecular potential energy related to stretch and angular defor...

Vibration Analysis of Circular Single-Layer Graphene Sheet Using Finite Element Method

Graphene sheets are combined of Honeycombs lattice carbon-carbon bonds which have high natural frequencies, high strength, and high conductivity. Due to important applications of the graphene sheets particularly at higher frequencies, the study of their dynamic behavior is important in this frequency range. From Molecular Dynamics (MD) point of view as the dimensions of graphene sheet incline, ...

Adsorption of Gas Molecules on Graphene Doped with Mono and Dual Boron as Highly Sensitive Sensors and Catalysts

First-principle calculations have been investigated to study the adsorption of the molecules (SO2, CO, NH3, CO2, NO2, and NO) on the surface of mono boron (B) B-doped and dual B-doped graphene sheets to explore their potential applications as sensors. Our findings indicate that the adsorption of (CO and NH3) on B-doped graphene and (CO and ...

Theory of carrier density in multigated doped graphene sheets with quantum correction

The quantum capacitance model is applied to obtain an exact solution for the space-resolved carrier density in a multigated doped graphene sheet at zero temperature, with quantum correction arising from the finite electron capacity of the graphene itself taken into account. The exact solution is demonstrated to be equivalent to the self-consistent Poisson-Dirac iteration method by showing an il...
